Musculoskeletal Ultrasound in Physical and Rehabilitation medicine: possibilities in the assessment of selected morphological changes of upper limb
Giannelli, Karolína ; Mezian, Kamal (advisor) ; Hrazdíra, Luboš (referee) ; Nedělka, Tomáš (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of ultrasound diagnostics and ultrasound-guided interventional procedures in selected pathological changes of the upper limb. Ultrasound examination directly in specialists' offices, including rehabilitation physicians, has been a worldwide trend in the last two decades. The main advantages include the possibility of assessing the pathological findings directly related to the clinical examination. The benefit is speeding up the establishment of an accurate diagnosis and initiating adequate treatment. Indirectly, the costs associated with examination by other imaging techniques and therapy are reduced. This thesis aims to present diagnostic and therapeutic options for selected morphological changes in the upper limb, including less common pathologies, such as case reports of intramuscular haemangiomas, whose diagnosis was significantly contributed by ultrasound examination. In addition to diagnosis, ultrasound is used to navigate interventions, increasing the safety and effectiveness of these procedures. The research part of this thesis is focused on identifying the optimal site of median nerve injection in carpal tunnel syndrome. This study is a prospective, randomized, blinded study with 46 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome. We compared the effect of two...
ESWT in Achilles tendinopathy
Hojková, Lýdie ; Demeková, Júlia (advisor) ; Havlíčková, Michaela (referee)
Achilles tendinopathy is a painful condition formed by chronic overuse. Conservative treatement requires activity modification, heel lifts, arch supports, even immobilisation. There are often unsatisfactory results with it. The use of ESWT has recently been introduced in soft-tissue disorders including epicondylitis, plantar fasciitis, calcifitation of the shloulder and, as well, Achilles tendinopathy. The aim of the work was to introduce the effects of ESWT on soft tissues, types of generation and new posibilities in ESWT therapy in Achilles tendinopathy.

Voleský, Kryštof ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Pánek, David (referee)
Title: The analysis of risk factors for tendinopathy in runners Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to find out the most important risk factor for development of Achilles tendinopathy, detect the most relevant diagnostic approach with preventive monitoring for Achilles tendinopathy and evaluate the best treatment for Achilles tendinopathy in runners. Methods: The diploma thesis is in form of literary review. The Scopus, PubMed and Web of science databases were used to search for studie using a combination of keywords. A total of 1084 titles were identified. Due to duplicates 402 titles were excluded. On the basis of the name of the article 51 titles were included. On the basis of the availability 50 titles were included. On the basis of the abstract 46 titles were included. Finally 29 titles were included in this review. Results: The most important risk factor for development of Achilles tendinopathy was training intensity for distances 1500-3000 m, week running volume >65 km or being new to running. The most relevant diagnostic approach for Achilles tendinopaty was clinical examination assessing pain (Achilles tendon pain, positive palpation test) and function (pain during physical aktivity) of Achilles tendon. This approach serves as indication for sonographic assessment of Achilles tendon...
